dinner conversation 

8 year old daughter: "Mmm.  Thanks for making this chicken, Mom.  It's my favorite!"

Mom:  "You're welcome.  And thank you for helping me make dinner tonight."

Dad: "Mmm."

8 year old daughter: "Hmm.  Did you put sour cream in these mashed potatoes?"

Mom: "I sure did.  Good catch."

Dad:  "Mmm, time for seconds."

8 year old daughter: "So, do both of you guys believe that abortion is wrong?"

Mom: "Whoah..."

Dad: "How 'bout those Jonas brothers?!"
